I was on a Podcast!

Recently I was invited to record a podcast episode with The Weeb & the Cazh, who make podcasts about lots of fun nerdy things! The whole episode is about DadQuest, and there are lots of fun little bits of trivia and teasers for the book, so it should be an interesting listen whether or not you’ve read it. The link to the episode on Spotify is here. It’s also available everywhere podcasts can be found, or they have a linktree here.

Recording with Rex & Alex was a ton of fun, and we had a great discussion about the book, the isekai genre, and writing in general. It was very easy to riff off of them and have a fun, back-and-forth conversation about creative endeavors and storytelling. I highly recommend giving them a listen, they’re excellent hosts. They’ve done other episodes focusing on D&D, anime, and visiting Japan.

It was fun going into some of the behind-the-scenes of writing a book, and discussing the process, logistical difficulties, and revisions that go into creating a story. At time of recording both Rex and Alex were only partway through DadQuest, so I also got to have fun teasing them with things that were upcoming in the story.

At the end of the episode I read out a few of the more interesting passages from the book (that wouldn’t have resulted in spoilers). That put me in mind of making an audiobook, which is something I have no experience with. It’s something that multiple people have asked for with DadQuest, but I don’t want to put something out unless I can do it well. It’s a possibility for the future, if things take off in a serious way. Until then, you can always listen to the podcast for a few instances of me using silly character voices.
